Welcome to the SGCNR Rules
This is the complete guide to playing on our FiveM server. If you’re looking for the "too long; didn't read" version, check out our [Quick-Start Summary] here.
Stay Updated
Rules can shift slightly to keep gameplay fair, so check back here often. Avoid using saved or downloaded copies, as they might be outdated.
The Essentials:
No Excuses: You are responsible for knowing these rules from day one.
Fair Play: If you see someone breaking the rules, let us know on Discord or in-game. Just be mindful not to over-report—let’s keep the staff queue manageable!
Proof Matters: If you make a report, you must provide clear evidence. Players are considered innocent until proven otherwise.
Staff Authority: Our staff interprets these rules to keep things fair. Their word on rule application is final.
Server Rights: We reserve the right to moderate our community and issue bans at our discretion.
Zero Tolerance for Cheating: We have a strict policy against cheats and spoofers. Even discussing, owning, or being in "modding" Discords can lead to an immediate ban.

Understanding Defense of Life (DoL)
Defense of Life (which includes self-defense and the protection of others) is the use of force in direct response to an active Threat. To clear up common confusion, we have defined what constitutes a valid threat below.
When is a Player Considered a "Threat"?
You may defend yourself or others if a player engages in the following behaviours:
Brandishing: Holding a weapon while facing you (excluding being inside a gun store).
Aiming: Pointing a firearm or weapon in your general direction.
Discharging: Firing a weapon at or near you.
Melee Aggression: Attempting to stab, strike, or hit you with any tool or melee weapon.
Carjacking: Attempting to forcibly remove you from your vehicle.
Vehicular Assault: Driving toward you with the clear intent to run you over or ram your vehicle.
Verbal Threats: Expressing a direct intent to kill or physically harm you.
The "Reasonable Person" Rule
While the list above provides common examples, the standard for DoL is whether an average, reasonable player would feel their safety is in jeopardy based on the other person's actions.
Important Note on Duration:
A threat is temporary. You are only permitted to act in Defense of Life while the danger is active and immediate. Once the danger stops existing, your right to use force under DoL ends.
Civilians (any player in a role capable of gaining a wanted level).
1.1A: The Right to Revenge
If you are attacked, arrested, killed, robbed, or have your property damaged/seized, you gain a "revenge right" against the responsible player(s).
Terms: You may kill the offender once per incident within the same game session.
Reinstatement: If they attack you again, your right to revenge is refreshed.
Job Switching: You may switch from a cop/paramedic role to a civilian role to carry out revenge or place a hit contract.
Trading: If both players kill each other simultaneously, revenge is not satisfied; both retain the right to hunt the other once more.
Proxies: You may hire a hitman or ask another player to act on your behalf. Once the target is killed via the contract/order, your revenge is satisfied. You must keep evidence (e.g., DMs or Hitman job logs) of the request.
1.1B: Self-Defense & Defense of Friends
You may use lethal force to protect yourself or your friends if you reasonably believe your lives are in danger.
Group Aggression: If an attacker is part of a group (e.g., multiple people in one car), you are permitted to engage the entire group.
Stalking: You may defend yourself if a player follows or lingers near you without interaction or reason (unless at a Point of Interest), or if they have an active revenge right/motive against you.
1.1C: Defense of Property
You may use lethal force to protect your property (and your friends' property) from theft, trespassing, or damage. This includes:
Attempted or successful vehicle theft.
A player entering your vehicle without permission.
Intentional or accidental damage to your vehicle.
1.1D:. Provocation
You may kill a player once per session if they provoke you through the following actions:
Insults: Verbal or text insults directed at you, your friends, or your crew.
Disrespectful Emotes: Using middle fingers, twerking, or gang signs nearby.
Noise Harassment: Playing loud music or spamming vehicle horns/burning tyres to be annoying (unless at a point of interest).
1.1E: Redzones
Players inside a marked Redzone may be killed on sight.
No Chasing: If a target leaves the Redzone, you cannot pursue them outside its borders unless you have a separate valid reason (like Revenge or DoL).
1.1F: Competitive Interference
Force is permitted when players directly compete for objectives.
Vehicle Theft: Competing for the same target vehicle or the "most wanted" vehicle.
Robberies: Someone joining your robbery without consent or robbing a store you intend to hit.
Resource Conflicts: A rival drug dealer using "your" selling spot.
Kill Stealing: Someone trying to kill your target or stealing your kill.
1.1G: Engaging Law Enforcement (Cops)
You may engage cops if they are actively working against you or your associates.
General: You can kill cops who are stalking or following you (except at points of interest).
Criminal Activity: If you or your group are wanted, you may kill Cops who:
Initiate a pursuit, pull you over, or tase/shoot at you.
Are arresting a friend or camping a robbery location
Approach your location (within assault rifle range), unless near a police station.
No "Cop Hunting": Attacking random Cops without a specific reason is strictly prohibited and will result in bans/fines. If a Cop flees after an engagement starts, you are still permitted to finish the kill.
1.1H: Engaging Paramedics
You may only attack Paramedics if they interfere with your combat objectives by:
Healing or reviving an Enemy or Opponent.
Positioning themselves close enough to your enemies to perform a revive.
Approaching your location (within AR range) when downed enemies are nearby.
Restrictions:
You cannot take Paramedics hostage. You cannot kill them for reviving your own friends. "Paramedic Hunting" is strictly prohibited.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Police Officers:
The following regulations apply exclusively to players clocked in as Police Officers.
1.2A: Authorized Use of Force
As an officer, lethal force is strictly regulated. You are permitted to use deadly force only in the following scenarios:
Defense of Life: Protecting yourself, fellow officers, or non-threatening players.
High-Value Targets: Engaging Most Wanted suspects (unless they are cuffed or surrendering).
Armed Suspects: Engaging any suspect seen brandishing a firearm, blade, or brass knuckles.
Violent Felony: If a suspect commits a violent act (against a player or NPC) in your presence, or if you have verified recent crime logs/calls regarding their violence.
Guilt by Association: Engaging suspects clearly operating alongside armed or dangerous individuals.
Tactical Necessity: If a suspect is:
Fleeing via aircraft or boat.
Swimming or underwater.
Camping on ladders outside of taser range.
Police Officers
1.2B: Protocol Exceptions & Special Conduct
Active Situations: If you arrive at a scene where officers are already engaged in a shootout, you may join in. You will not be penalized if it is later discovered the suspect was not a threat.
Foot Pursuits: You may use your vehicle at low speeds to intercept a fleeing suspect on foot, provided it is done safely.
Pit Maneuvers: You are authorized to ram/pit a suspect's vehicle to disable it during a pursuit.
Less-Lethal Usage: Use tasers or flashbangs to stop unarmed fleeing suspects.
Prohibited: Do not stun or strike players who are compliant, standing still, or already cuffed. While not an immediate ban, this may result in a formal warning or demotion.
You may use less-lethal force to remove non-compliant suspects from vehicles or to disable tires with a Stun Gun/Spikes.
Interference:
You may use less-lethal force on any player attempting to uncuff a suspect, obstructing an arrest, or lingering on/around police vehicles after being told to move. (Strict Prohibitions (No Lethal Force))
Unless acting in Self-Defense, you are strictly forbidden from attacking:
Innocent civilians, other officers, or paramedics.
Suspects who are surrendering (on their knees).
Suspects who are handcuffed (stun only if they are actively running).
Suspects already in police custody.
1.2D: Carjacking Rules
Officers are strictly prohibited from carjacking innocent civilians, fellow officers, or paramedics.
1.2E: Property & Vehicle Damage
Civilian Property: Do not damage unoccupied civilian vehicles.
Criminal Property: You may damage or destroy a suspect's vehicle if it is reasonably linked to a crime (e.g., used as a getaway car or parked at a crime scene).
Service Vehicles: You are never permitted to damage the vehicles of other officers or paramedics.
